Brian Proctor

Artist/Writer

Animal Corp, Trials of the Samurai Clown

My name is Brian Proctor. Back in the day where I grew up, there were no anatomy drawing lessons, or classes on creating your own comic book. At that young age, I knew there was one thing I really wanted. I wanted to learn to draw. It was more like a FIRE inside me. I wanted to tell stories with my drawings, but because there was no one to teach me, I had to learn on my own. So for years and years, I looked, measured, gaged, figured out how this works, and where that goes. All the while getting it Wrong. It was only until I started looking at everything in their simplest forms (SHAPES). Once I started looking at everything as a simple shape, and applying it to my drawings, that's when it all came together, and I really started drawing. I knew I didn't want to sit around and draw Captain America or Batman all day, I wanted people to see what I could do. This is when I started to create my own characters, and my own books. During that creative journey, I met countless people that always asked, "how do you do this, or how do you do that". So I created a You Tube, not to show off, but to help as many people as I could. People who were like me back in the day. People that have that fiery passion to draw, but have no one to teach them how. I wanted to make each lessons as simple as possible, so much so, that when you finished watching one, you would have learn more from it, then you would have from reading two or three drawing books. And I have accomplished that. As of today I have made 636 videos, on topics like character design, creating your own comic book from start to finish, how to draw action poses, how to make money using your talents, selling your books at conventions, making children's books, and much much more. So if you are one of those countless artist that desire to become better, then I urge you, to at least take a quick look at what I have to teach. The worse thing that can happen is you may learn something new.
